No Doubt had originally announced that their new album would come out late last year, but that didn't happen & the band is still recording in the studio.  Last week, though, they released the following video announcing the new release date.  Check it out...

I was completely devastated when I heard that Adam 'MCA' Yauch of the Beastie Boys passed away this past Friday.  He had been battling cancer for a few years & sadly, ended up losing that battle.  I knew that he must've been gravely ill when he couldn't show up to join his fellow Beasties for their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last month.  The Beastie Boys were integral in the formative years of Hip-Hop.  I've always been a fan of theirs & I don't think you can call yourself a true Hip-Hop aficionado if you don't recognize the Beastie Boys' trailblazing contributions to the genre.  Adam's untimely death at the age of 47 resonated with music fans of all ages & from all over the world.  Friday when I tweeted, 'I HATE CANCER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #RIPMCA', tons of people retweeted me from the US, Australia, the UK.  Hip-Hop legend Bun B of UGK even retweeted me.

Chris Martin & Coldplay even did a tribute to Adam & the Beastie Boys Friday night during their concert at the Hollywood Bowl.  Watch them perform that stripped down version of the Beastie's 1986 classic anthem "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!) below...

The Script is one of my favorite groups out right now.  I just LOVE lead singer Danny O'Donoghue's voice...he sings from his heart & soul and his voice has a uniqueness to it that resonates with me.  I LOVE the subject matter of their songs.  I'm just a big fan.  So imagine my surprise when I found out that The Script started off as a boy band! Yes!  I kid you not...they had the corny dance routines & all!  They used to go by the name mytown.  Check out one of their videos below...

Yeah, no mytown...I'll stick to The Script, thanks.  Lol.
